RADICAL HOPE
As we step into 2026, it’s essential to hope.
If we don’t, despair, disillusionment, and apathy flourish.
Inaction and indifference soon follow. And it’s all by design.
That’s why hope is a radical act.
I started this project this time last year
to focus my frustration into something positive.
It helped me cope with feelings of powerlessness
and motivated me against waves of emotional
paralysis to help raise much needed funds for MAP.
Once again, I dove into creating these works,
weaving thoughts of unity, humanity, and generosity into
the art – and most of all, the spirit of peace at this time of year.
Each artwork is a unique, hand-embroidered one-off
inspired by my lifelong fascination with Islamic geometric patterns.
My career as a graphic designer has been profoundly shaped
by the ubiquity of grids, allowing me to delve into and decipher
the complexities of geometrically perfect patterns.
